To me, it doesn´t feel like winter at all. The weather is acting truly weird, not to mention there are barely any people on the streetstyle blogs wearing winter clothes. Everyone else is already wearing spring/summer 2012. It is pretty exciting though, the color combinations and patterns look indeed interesting. So, are you ready for spring yet? :)

Nemám pocit, že by bola zima. Počasie je skutočne divné a to ani nehovorím o tých pár ľuďoch zo streetstyle blogov, ktorí majú zimné oblečenie. Ostatní už nosia jar/leto 2012. Je to vcelku vzručujúce lebo tie farebné kombinácie a potlače vyzerajú naozaj zaujímavo. Tak, ste už pripravený na jar? :)

In the morning, I decided that after all those quiet weeks I should really post something on this blog. I wanted to take a photo of things like the Christmas tree, sweet treats, presents, my outfit, the family, basically anything and everything. Guess what happened. I turned on my camera and it went dead after two seconds. It´s broken. Great. I thought that the least I can do is share some nice pictures with you. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

Ráno som sa rozhodla, že by sa už po toľkých týždňoch patrilo pridať niečo nové na tento blog. Chcela som nafotiť veci typu vianočný stromček, sladké dobroty, darčeky, svoj outfit, rodinu, skrátka to čo príde pod ruku. Ale čo sa nestane. Zapnem foťák a on sa po dvoch sekundách vypne. You already know that I´ve been looking for "the perfect coat" since the end of September. Finally I found one...in H&M! It´s soft, it´s grey and it looks pretty manly but I really like that sort of look.

Vy už viete, že som sa pokúšala nájsť "ten pravý kabát" približne od konca septembra. Konečne som ho našla...v H&M! Je mäkký, šedý a vyzerá pomerne dosť mužsky ale mne sa taký vzhľad páči.

Tieto jesenné prázdniny som sa vybrala do Amsterdamu a musím priznať, že je to krásne mesto a chcem sa tam vrátiť čo najskôr. Každá budova sa mi zdala nádherná, niečím výnimočná a sú tam vynikajúce dobroty. Tiež som sa zaľúbila do jedného obchodu The Otherist - fotka sa veľmi nevydarila tak si aspoň pozrite web page. Išla som aj na jednodňový výlet ku moru do obce Zantvoort, kde si mi tiež páčilo, len počasie trochu nevyšlo.

I deeply apologize for the peculiar quality of these photos but the sun literally washed me out and I didn´t know what to do about it. Oh well, at least I finally made a post! :)

I just realised I haven´t been posting that much lately. It was my birthday on Wednesday and from than on I´ve been kind of celebrating everyday. I was occupied by other things too, running from there to here and forgot not only about my blog but about others too. I hope you don´t really mind if I don´t post for a few days instead of putting things I don´t like in here. Don´t worry I am not about to stop or anything like that, actually I am getting into the blogging mood so look forward to it :)

Práve som si uvedomila ako málo príspevkov pribudlo v poslednej dobe. V stredu som mala narodeniny a odvtedy som každý deň trochu oslavovala. Zamestnávala som sa inými vecami, chodila sem a tam a zabudla nielen na môj ale aj ostatné blogy. Dúfam, že vám to neprekáža ale radšej sem pár dní nič nedám ako keby som tu mala strkať veci len tak. Nebojte sa nemienim prestať alebo také niečo, práve že sa znovu dostávam do bloggovania tak sa tešte :)

I remember having a 60s coat which looked similar to this one from Zara (except mine was orange) when I was about 7 years old. I think it´d be ´very IN´ at the moment but I´m actually looking for a semi long, gray or dark brown one right now. If you see the one which fits my description please let me know :) In the meantime I can enjoy looking at these wonderful (yet expensive as hell) coats.

Spomínam si ako som v siedmych nosila jeden 60s kabát, ktorý sa podobal tomuto zo Zary (lenže môj bol oranžový). Myslím si, že teraz by bol ´veľmi IN´ no ja hľadám taký mierne dlhý, šedý alebo tmavo hnedý. Ak ste taký niekde videli dajte mi prosím vedieť :) Zatiaľ môžem obdivovať tieto úžasné (ale pekelne drahé) kabáty.

The streetstyle blogs are still filled with people wearing short, printed, bright colored garments -the summer clothes although I feel quite fed up with it. Maybe it´s the fact that I love layering and always feel underdressed during summer days so I hope I´ll see some nice fall color palletes - the deep, rich shades, rather more black, a few neutral tones...anyways tell me what are you most excited about this fall?

Streetstyle blogy sú ešte stále preplnené ľuďmi, ktorí nosia krátke, potlačené, žiarivo farebné odevy - letné oblečenie, no ja mám toho tak trochu plné zuby. Možno je to tým, že obľubujem vrstvenie a cez leto sa neustále cítim ´underdressed´ (prosím, povedzte mi aký je na to výraz v slovenčine) preto dúfam, že uvidím nejaké pekné, jesenné palety farieb - tmavé, bohaté odtiene, skôr viac čiernej a trochu neutrálnych farieb...Čomu sa najviac tešíte túto jeseň vy?

Remember this post? I haven´t stopped thinking about the ´untitled´ perfume although I was feeling frustrated about not being able to even smell it nor buy it because it´s not sold in my country. Luckily I found this amazing, minimalistic store which sells clothes, accessories AND perfumes by MM Margiela, Ann Demeulemeester, Acne, Comme des Garcons and others, called PARK and is located in Vienna. I actually bought Eau de Toilette because I wanted to go for something a bit more lighter than the perfume. It´s very fresh, citrusy and reminds me of green tea. I also stopped by H&M and bought the choker necklace (from 10 of these only one wasn´t damaged), the hair accessory you could have seen at Dries Van Noten´s FW 2011/2012 runway show and two cuff bracelets. Hope you like these things as much as I do :)

Spomínate si na tento príspevok? Neprestávala som myslieť na parfém ´untitled´, no viac menej frustrovaná pretože som ho nemohla ani ovoňať a už vôbec nie kúpiť, lebo u nás nie je dostať. Našťastie som našla skvelý, minimalistický obchod PARK vo Viedni, ktorý predáva oblečenie, doplnky A parfémy od MM Margiela, Ann Demeulemeester, Acne, Comme des Garcons a ďalších. Spať k parféum: vlastne som si kúpila toaletku lebo som chcela niečo ľahšie. Je to svieža, citrusová vôňa, ktorá mi pripomína zelený čaj. Tiež som sa zastavila v H&M a kúpila náhrdelník (z 10 bol jediný nepoškodený), vlasový doplnok podobný tým, ktoré ste mohli vidieť na prehliadke Dries Van Noten´s FW 2011/2012 a ešte dva náramky. Dúfam, že sa vám páčia tak ako mne :)

Simple, clean yet delivering a wow effect, that´s how I would describe outfits of 19 years old Yin Pang living in Denmark...although her blog Pangcakes isn´t all about the outfits. Yin writes about her thoughts and shares various adventures from her daily life with us - the readers too. She also posts vlogs on youtube which I enjoy a lot because of Yin´s quirky a funny personality. I bet you are as excited as I was when I first looked at Pangcakes but enough from me, I´ll let the photos and Yin´s answers speak.

Who/what inspires your outfits?

I think what inspires me is what I have seen work on other people mixed with what I would usually wear. I like to try on new sorts of outfits everyday and not stick to one specific look for too long. As an example I prefer not to have too many 'dark' outfits more days in a row, then I like to switch to floral prints or something more girly. I think my 'need' to dress with variety is a big part of what inspires my outfits, to try out everything.

Favorite places to shop?

I have been shopping in secondhand stores a lot these past months. Besides from that I, as always, love looking around in Monki. There is always something I want. Besides from that I actually shop waaay too much on the internet, it's addictive.

A pair of vintage Versace shorts I cut myself and my vintage Chanel boots. Besides from that I am really digging a new floral shirt I bought thrifted the other day but I am unsure if it's just a phase because it's new and different, haha.

Currently waiting impatiently on some pieces I won in a competition that actually have no idea what looks like. But I need to get in the mail and own it right now. Besides from that I love to own the converse platforms trending right now and a pair of black pair of heeled ankle boots! Obsessing over a lot of shoes right now.

My style has only evolved the way it has because I have been wearing a lot of wrong things because I'm too lazy to follow trends or 'fashion rules'. I learned it the hard way and that's by looking like an idiot for years... I can never present myself as a fashion blogger, it'd be so wrong.

I promised that with the beginning of this school year, I´d start posting regurarly so here we go. On Wednesday, I went to Vienna, visited Forever21 and was shocked from the amount of awesome necklaces, rings, bracelets and other jewelery which I found there. The price is similar to what you pay for H&M accessories . Everything on the photos is F21 except the ring on left which is H&M.

Sľúbila som, že so začiatkom školy začnem opäť prispievať pravidelne tak poďme na to. V stredu som išla do Viedne, navštívila Forever21 a ostala v šoku koľko skvelých náhrdelníkov, prsteňov, náramkov a neviem akých všelijakých šperkov tam mali! Cenovo veľmi podobné tomu čo nájdete v H&M. Na obrázkoch je všetko F21 okrem prsteňa naľavo, ten je z H&M.

Finally I am back home and I wish I could just never go to that cottage again because I can´t find anything interesting or entertaining in there. Luckily, my two friends came to visit me, we snapped some pictures although the weather sucked so I am not that satisfied with the results.

Konečne som späť a prajem si aby som sa už nikdy nemusela vrátiť na tú chatu pretože si tam neviem nájsť nič zaujímavé alebo zábavné. Našťastie ma navštívili dve kamarátky(aah, ja naozaj nemám rada to slovo), trochu sme fotili aj keď počasie bolo nanič takže nie som veľmi spokojná s výsledkom.

My favorite collection was designed by Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy. Overally it appears to be very light and pure, I really like the glittery details, high necklines, transparent materials and of course those handbags(!). You can read about the process of making this collection on style.com P.S. I´ll be off for a few days because I´m going to Hungary.

Moja obľúbená haute couture kolekcia na jeseň je od Givenchy. Celkovo pôsobí veľmi svetlo a čisto, veľmi sa mi páčia tie trblietavé detaily, vysoké goliere, priehľadné materiály a samozrejme kabelky(!). P.S. Na pár dni odchádzam na chatu do Maďarska a vrátim sa asi v nedeľu.

I always had this obsession with small houses which were well designed, minimalistic, backlit and set in beautiful location. This particular one reminds me of a spaceship :)

Odvždy som bola fascinovaná malými domami, ktoré boli dobre premyslené a navrhnuté, minimalistické, presvetlené a nachádzali sa na krásnych miestach. Tento konkrétny mi pripominá vesmírnu loď :)

Mudgee Permanent Camping

Location: Mudgee, Australia

Located on a remote pristine mountain on a sheep station in central western NSW, this structure was the realisation of a dream for the client. The tower is sited at the edge of a ridge, surrounded by large granite boulders and ancient dead trees. Its remote location affords panoramic views for hundreds of miles to the horizon.

Conceived as a retreat for one or two people, the building has a minimal 3x3m footprint providing shelter. The structure is a two storey copper clad tower with the sides opening up on the ground level to provide wide verandahs to the north, east and western elevations. To the south, a water tank and winches are located to operate the moveable verandah roofs. When not in use these roofs close down to completely enclose the timber and glass interior, protecting it from the elements in particular bush fires.

Internally, the structure is beautifully crafted from recycled ironbark providing a sleeping loft and small kitchen with a Rais wood fired slow combustion stove. Water is collected on the roof with a separate WC, also in copper clad hardwood, located a short walk to the west. The structure is heavily insulated from cold winds as well as searing daytime temperatures, with multi layered walls all ventilated top and bottom allowing free air movement.

Due to the isolated nature of the building site, the building was completely prefabricated by the builder Jeffrey Broadfield in Sydney and then transported to site and erected.

I´ve never showed you this awesome bag I won at Jul´s blog. It looks very sophisticated and to my surprise it can carry a lot of school books too. The second photo was made by Tana and I just love it!

Nikdy som vám neukázala túto skvelú kabelku, ktorú som vyhrala na Julianinom blogu. Vyzerá veľmi sofistikovane a na moje prekvapenie sa do nej dokáže zmestiť plno školských učebníc. Druhú fotku urobila Tana, za čo jej ďakujem lebo tú fotografiu proste zbožňujem. Fascinuje ma ako dobre je zaostrená a pritom je to nechutné pozadie mierne rozmazané :)

Guess what´s on these photos. No idea? That´s my brand new kimono jacket from H&M. I purchased it on Saturday, washed it for 1 time only and wore only once - today. You can see what happened to it: the threads are sticking out and one of the two handles which were supposed to hold the rope tore up. Nice job H&M...

I´ve been buying clothing from this shop for a pretty long time and was able to find out that these clothes aren´t the best quality, in fact, most of the time it is the quality of my kimono jacket. It´s sad that cheaper clothes are made so badly and can be destroyed in one day. That brings me back to this post, where I was questioning my personal and other´s choices when it comes to buying new and trendy clothes.

Hopefuly, I´ll be able to fix the kimono so I can wear it more than once but I´ve definitely learnt something from this experience. Would cheap become more expensive than something pricey just because we have to buy it repeatedly? Does this lesson mean no more shopping in chain stores like H&M? Let me know what you think!

Hádajte, čo je na týchto fotkách. Nemáte ani tušenie? Je to moje nové "kimono" z H&M. Kúpila som ho v sobotu, oprala iba 1 krát a obliekla tiež len 1 krát - dnes. Môžete vidieť, čo sa s ním stalo: nitky vytŕčajú a jeden z držiakov na ten opasok sa odtrhol. Skvelá práca H&M...

Z tohto obchodu som nakupovala oblečenie už dosť dlho a mohla som zistiť, že ich veci nie sú vždy tá najlepšia kvalita, alebo inak, väčšinou je to kvalita á la toto kimono. Je to smutné, že lacnejšie kúsky oblečenia sú tak zle vyrobené a môžu byť zničené/poškodené behom jedného dňa. Toto ma privádza späť k tomuto príspevku(prepísaného už aj do slovenčiny!), v ktorom rozoberám moje osobné rozhodnutia a rozhodnutia iných čo sa týka kupovania novučičkého a trendového oblečenia.

Snáď sa mi podarí dať toto kimono dokopy a budem ho môcť nosiť viac ako jeden deň, no určite som sa poučila. Stane sa lacné drahším než to "skutočne drahé" len preto, že si to musíme kupovať opätovne? Znamená to koniec nakupovania v reťazcoch ako H&M? Dajte mi vedieť, čo si myslíte!

This is "the thing" I mentioned yesterday. It´s like bathrobe and kimono combined :) Oh well...my face, please ignore it, the purpose of that photo was to show you the kimono jacket. I even have my nerdy glasses on - normally I wear contacts during day.

Toto je "tá vec", ktorú som včera spomenula. Je to niečo medzi županom a kimonom :) Prosím, ignorujte moju tvár, cieľom fotky bolo samozrejme ukázať ako "tá vec" vyzerá na mne. Dokonca mám aj svoje okuliare, aj keď zvyčajne nosím kontaktné šošovky.

I must admit, this is a very random post but I am home alone and there is literally nothing to eat. Thankfully I feel so tired I don´t even care. I bought something really nice today and can´t wait to show you :)

Unexpected sequence of events happened to me, for example, my Iphone was stolen by a man which I have taped on camera but I bet the police isn´t going to try hard to find him anyway.

Prihodil sa mi nečakaný sled udalostí, napríklad, vo štvrtok mi jeden chalan, ktorého mám natočeného na videu kradol Iphone ale aj tak si myslím, že sa polícia nebude veľmi snažiť nájsť ho. Prikladám link ak by toho chalana niekto náááhodou spoznal.

Finally, I found some decent, matte lipsticks at my local drugstore! They are from german brand called Catrice and I am currently at the process of testing the quality of other products (powders, nail polishes, eyeshadows).

Konečne sa mi podarilo nájsť nejaké matné rúže za pár eur. Možno ste si už všimli, že do DM-ky pribudla nová nemecká značka Catrice. Okrem rúžov ma zaujali aj prekrásne odtiene lakov, ktorých trvácnosť idem testovať, spolu aj s inými produktami.

I came across this fantastic idea on Ivania´s blog (which is my constant inspiration) and stared looking for any hardware lying around. My mother´s boyfriend gave me various types of tubes and I already made that bracelet you see in the picture.

Tento parádny nápad som našla na...eh, neviem to vyskloňovať - Ivania´s blog (ktorý je mojou neustálou inšpiráciou) a začala som zháňať nevyužité kúsky železa. Priateľ mojej mamy mi včera doniesol rôzne typy rúrok - zo zberných surovín a už aj som ich využila na náramok, ktorý vidíte na obrázku. P.S.viem, že môj lak vyzerá naozaj divne s tými medenými vecami :D

I apologize for the quality of this picture, it was shot with Iphone. What I wanted to ask was, whether I should buy these heels or not? They cost 40euro and the only thing that bothers me are the "broken" tips.

Ospravedlňujem sa za kvalitu obrázku, chcela som sa len poradiť či mám alebo nemám kúpiť tieto topánky? Sú zo sekáču, stoja 40eur a ako vidíte, špičky sú také, "zlomené". Podľa mňa sú perfektné ale stoja za tú cenu? A áno, začínam písať aj po slovensky! :)

I took a few days off from blogging, mostly because I had to finish school projects so my grade report would look a little better at the end of school year and secondly because I was thinking over the meaning and purpose of my blog.

After cleaning up my wardrobe, I weighted all the stuff I wanted to throw away (not literally - donate or sell) and found out it was 19kg of clothes! This stuff also covered 2/3 of my closet. The oldest things were max. 3 years old, although I have to point out that until last year my height was rising.

Now, let´s get to the point of this post.

I really don´t have that many basics in my closet, there were things which were on trend for few weeks or so, and I didn´t wear them afterwards. Why am I buying stuff like that? Oh wait, isn´t it what most of the fashion bloggers do? I think so. Many of them/us buy something "currently fashionable", show it off and then (maybe) try to wear it uniquely for a while. To be more concrete, I mean clothes that aren´t the best quality. Nowadays, cheap things are made to serve for a little time so we can purchase new ones over and over, in large quantities. That´s called consumerism.

What am I going to do about it? Reduce and reuse. Now that sounds almost cliché but what I mean is reducing my so-called-needs considering fashion, reusing clothes - making something new out of something old and supporting secondhand/thrift/vintage stores. There are enough clothes in the world already, so why not dig up something that 1. Not many people have 2. Will satisfy me for more than 1 month and if not it´s easy to donate it back. Hopefully I´ll be able to withdraw myself from this cycle of consumerism although I´m not saying it will be that easy.

How do you look at this issue?

Vzala som si pár dni voľna od bloggovania, hlavne preto lebo som musela dokončiť nejaké školské projekty aby moje vysvedčenie vyzeralo o niečo lepšie a po druhé, lebo som premýšľala nad zmyslom a účelom môjho blogu.

Po uprataní mojej skrine som zvážila všetko oblečenie, ktoré som chcela vyhodiť(nie doslovne – darovať alebo predať) a zistila, že to bolo 19kg! Tieto veci taktiež pokrývali 2/3 mojej skrine. Najstaršie kusy boli max. 3 roky staré aj keď musím podotknúť, že do minulého roku moja výška rástla.

A teraz k pointe tohto príspevku.

Nemám až tak veľa „basic“ kúskov v mojej skrini, boli tam veci, ktoré boli trendy na pár týždňov alebo tak a potom som ich vôbec nenosila. Prečo si ale kupujem takéto kúsky? Počkať, nie je to presne to, čo robí väčšina módnych bloggerov? Myslím, že hej. Veľa z nich/nás si kúpi niečo „aktuálne moderné“, ukáže to a potom sa to chvíľu snaží nosiť jedinečne. Ak by som mala byť konkrétna, myslím oblečenie, tej nie najlepšej kvality. V dnešnej dobe sú lacné veci vyrobené tak aby slúžili na krátky čas aby sme si ich mohli kúpiť znovu a znovu, „najlepšie“ vo veľkých množstvách. Tomu sa hovorí konzumerizmus.

A čo s tým urobím ja? Obmedziť a znovu použiť = recyklovať. Ja viem, znie to tak trochu klišé ale čo mám na mysli, je zredukovanie mojich „potrieb“ v rámci módy, opätovného využívania oblečenia – vyrábanie niečoho nového z niečoho starého a podporovanie sekáčov. Na svete je už dostatok oblečenia (nevymýšľam si!), tak prečo nevyhrabať niečo čo 1. nevlastní veľká kopa ľudí 2. uspokojí ma na viac než mesiac a ak nie, je jednoduché vrátiť to späť. Dúfam, že sa mi podarí dostať sa z tohto cyklu konzumerizmu aj keď nehovorím, že to bude jednoduché.

DIY: Collar tips

£10.00... £10.00? Yes, these original collar tips from Asos look perfectly shiny with that copper-y metal finish but my paper ones still deliver theirs effect. Before you roll down onto the pictures, I want to remind you that my result isn´t the best quality and I am going to remake it for sure :)

You´ll need a hard paper with color of your choice

and shirt with color, shape etc. of your choice.

Measure the tips on your collar and cut the paper - think about how are you going to connect it to the tips, sew it? glue it? bound it? I used tape so it was very easy for me to show you the final result but of course, using tape isn´t practical at all. I´d say glue it, but when you are cutting the paper make sure you leave a bit more space on the sides so you can bend them and glue them (I actually didn´t do that). Oh, and keep in mind that when you are going to wash the shirt you´ll need to take the tips off and take put them on again.

Voilà

and now, I can finally enjoy my breakfast :)
